What Thymalin is
As an extract, Thymalin contains many peptides. Later papers single out two tiny ones that do most of the work: KE pairs lysine with glutamic acid, while EW pairs glutamic acid with tryptophan.
Epithalon and Vilon come from that same Russian school of research. A PubMed search done for these notes turned up 293 Thymalin records, 254 of them in Russian, and about a third name one of two authors from that tradition.
Thymalin research, from cells to one long report
Two dish studies come first. In 2020, researchers exposed human blood stem cells to Thymalin and tracked which kinds of immune cell they turned into. A 2022 dish study then exposed human immune cells to Thymalin and to four of its relatives and measured their signals for growth and inflammation.
The main human paper is a 2002 report on 266 older people, tracked over a span of six to eight years. Its authors compared deaths and lung infections in people given Thymalin with a comparison group, a comparison whose group assignment was not reported. It comes from the same school of research, so it stands as their report, not a settled fact.

Following 266 older people for years sounds strong. The weak points are that the report does not say how people were assigned to groups, and that it comes from the same school of research as the product. Until another team repeats it, it stays one group's report.
