What Glutathione is
It is assembled from glycine, cysteine and glutamate. Cells build it on their own and put it to work clearing away harmful forms of oxygen and helping remove toxins, as a 2023 review describes.

A 6 month trial from 2015 with 54 adults compared glutathione supplements with a placebo and measured glutathione in their blood and in their cheek cells.
On skin color, a 2019 review found only 4 studies to look at and called the evidence unclear.
